SNS Terms of Use

Sony Bank Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Sony Bank") hereby establishes the following Terms of Use for customers using the official social media accounts operated by Sony Bank (hereinafter referred to as "Official Accounts").

Official Accounts are established by Sony Bank, which is a registered financial institution under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law.
Official Accounts are operated by social networking services (hereinafter referred to as "SNS") operating companies such as Facebook for the purpose of disseminating information about Sony Bank's products, services, and other information.
The SNS pages, etc. are not owned by Sony Bank and are not under the control of Sony Bank.

Article 1 - Scope of the Agreement
These terms of use shall apply to all users who interact with official accounts (hereinafter referred to as "Customers").
Customers can interact with Official Accounts only if they have read and agreed to these terms of use. Interactions with Official Accounts shall be deemed as the Customer's agreement to these terms of use.
These terms of use are subject to change without notice. The revised version of these terms of use will be posted on the Sony Bank website. Please confirm the latest version of the terms of use before interacting with an Official Account. The revised terms of use shall also apply to information (including customer comments, etc.) posted prior to the revision of the terms of use.
Article 2 - Operation
Sony Bank posts a variety of information to its official accounts, including updates to its official blog and website (service site and corporate site), products and services, and employee activities.
All postings will be made on weekdays (except Saturdays, Sundays, bank holidays, and New Year holidays). Please note that we may post information outside of our operating hours.

The operation of official accounts may be suspended or terminated without notice.

Article 3 – About Comments
Comments received from customers on our Official Accounts will be accepted as valuable opinions and feedback.
We may not be able to respond to comments from customers. We appreciate your understanding in advance.
Article 4 - Access to Customer Information
When a Customer registers as a fan of our Official Accounts, or posts a comment on our Official Accounts, it will be deemed that the Customer has granted Sony Bank access to the name, profile photograph, gender, and other information that the Customer have registered with the SNS, and Sony Bank shall be entitled to obtain such information.
Article 5 - SNS Usage Precautions
  • Sony Bank does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of information on our Official Accounts.
  • The information on our official accounts is only current at the time of publication. For the latest information, please refer to the Sony Bank website.
  • Sony Bank will, in principle, change or delete information posted on its Official Accounts without prior notice.
  • Sony Bank shall not be responsible for any damage, trouble, or disadvantage (hereinafter referred to as "Damages") incurred by customers or third parties due to any of the following:
    • Damages incurred by customers in relation to the information posted on our Official Accounts, changes to the information, or deletion of the information. Damages incurred by customers in connection with their use of our Official Accounts, regardless of the legal cause of claim.
    • Damages incurred by the customers due to inability to use our Official Accounts.
    • Damages incurred by the customers or third parties due to problems between customers or between customers and third parties when using Sony Bank’s Official Accounts.
  • Sony Bank shall not be responsible for any comments or other information posted on its Official Accounts by customers or other third parties, which are the sole responsibility of the person who posted them. The information submitted by customers or third parties is not endorsed by Sony Bank, nor is it a representation of the views of Sony Bank.
  • Sony Bank shall treat all comments and other information made by customers on its Official Account as public information. Sony Bank reserves the right to preserve or record such information.
  • SNS are operated by external companies. Sony Bank does not guarantee the functionality or safety of any SNS. Sony Bank will not be able to answer any questions regarding the operation of an SNS, how to use an SNS, or technical questions regarding SNS.
Article 6 - Intellectual Property Rights
Unless otherwise stated, all content, logos, marks, trademarks, images, and other materials displayed on our Official Accounts are the property of Sony Bank or their respective owners and are protected by intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, copyrights, design rights, patent rights, utility model rights, trademark rights, and know-how) and other applicable laws.
The customer who posted the content shall own the copyright to the content. However, the Customer shall grant the Sony Bank a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive right to use the content (including processing, extracting, reproducing, publishing, translating, etc.), and shall not exercise any intellectual property rights such as copyright, moral rights, etc. relating to the content to Sony Bank.
Customers are not allowed to use any information provided through our Official Accounts beyond the scope of copyright law, such as personal reproductions as permitted by the Copyright Act. In addition, use for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
In the event that a problem arises with a rights holder or a third party in violation of the provisions of this article, it is his/her own responsibility to resolve the problem at his/her own expense.
Article 7 Prohibited Acts and Deletion Rules
In principle, Sony Bank does not delete any comments received from Customers. However, Sony Bank reserves the right to delete the following types of comments (including those that may be considered as such) without prior notice. Sony Bank may disclose the deletion by posting on its Official Accounts or by other means.
  • Comments that impede the operation of Official Accounts
  • Comments that infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights of Sony Bank or a third party
  • Comments that include account information and asset information
  • Comments that violate the privacy of a third party
  • Comments that are contrary to laws, regulations, public order and morals
  • Comments that slander specific individuals, companies, countries or regions
  • Inappropriate comments, including obscene expressions
  • Comments that aim to commit criminal acts or induce criminal acts
  • Comments impersonating a third party, including Sony Bank
  • Comments that are contrary to these terms of use
  • Other comments deemed inappropriate by Sony Bank
Article 8 - Handling of Personal Information
Sony Bank may acquire and use Customers’ personal information for the purpose of analyzing the usage of Official Accounts and responding to customer inquiries.
Personal information shall be handled with care in accordance with the relevant laws and Privacy Policy.
Article 9 - Jurisdictional Agreement and Governing Law
  • These terms of use shall be governed by the laws of Japan.
  • The Tokyo District Court shall be the exclusive jurisdiction as the court of the first instance for any lawsuit between the customer and Sony Bank with respect to the use of an Official Account.
