On January 31, 2024 (Wed), Sony Bank implemented BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification), which displays company icons in email delivered by Sony Bank as a countermeasure against phishing emails.
By using BIMI-compatible mail software, the Sony Bank icon is now displayed in the email inbox or on the email message screen, making it easy to recognize at a glance that the email is from Sony Bank.

BIMI is a technology that authenticates that an email was sent from a legitimate email sender by displaying an icon of a trademarked company logo. The icon is only displayed for emails that have been authenticated using sender domain authentication technologies (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC), which are countermeasures against spoofed emails sent by third parties.
All emails sent by Sony Bank are implemented with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) determines the legitimacy of the sender of an email by matching the IP address of the email sender with the registered IP address, which Sony Bank has registered, at the time of email delivery.
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) uses a digital signature to authenticate that the emails received by the customer's email service are sent from Sony Bank. Emails from Sony Bank are sent with digital signatures so that the customer's email service can determine whether the email is legitimate or not.
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) will only receive emails if the customer's email service determines that the sender of the email is Sony Bank as verified by DKIM and will reject emails if it determines that the sender is an unauthorized source.

Sony Bank will continue to enhance its secure functions to ensure that customers can use our services safely and securely.
