Important Matters Concerning Foreign Currency Deposits
All new Sony Bank customers are eligible to receive this
special 1,000 yen cash reward simply by using Sony Bank
WALLET (a cash card with Visa Debit functionality).
Anyone who uses their card five times or more at any Visa merchant in Japan by the end
of the second month after the end of the month in which your new card was issued will
receive 1,000 yen cash reward.
- Criteria
- All customers who have made purchases using their Sony Bank WALLET at Visa merchants in Japan five times or more by the end of the second month after the end of the month in which their card was issued will receive 1,000 yen cash reward.
No application or registration is required.
Regardless of the usage amount, your eligibility to receive this benefit will be determined based on the number of times you used your card.

Please check the front or back of your Sony Bank WALLET as follows.
The first two figures in the card expiration date (first two digits of month/year) indicate the month in which your card was issued.
For this card, for example, January is the month when the card is issued, so if you have used the card at least five times by the end of March, you will be eligible for the 1,000 yen cash reward.
- Cashback payment method and timing

Your 1,000 yen cash reward will be credited to your Yen savings account by the 25th of the fourth month after the month in which your card was issued.

Due to the way Visa Debit works, Sony Bank first receives the usage data and then the confirmed sales data, which may take several days to receive.
The total number of times you have used Sony Bank WALLET will be calculated based on those transactions for which we have finished processing sales data as of the date of cashback eligibility review. Purchases for which the confirmed sales data has not arrived at Sony Bank as of this date will not be included in the calculation of the number of times you have used your card, even if the usage amount has been debited from your account.
- Important notes

- Payments made at overseas Visa merchants are not eligible.
- Payments made in currencies other than Yen at Japan-based merchants are also not eligible.
- Even if the transaction is made over the counter or online from within Japan, you will not be eligible to earn cash reward on payments at merchants where transactions are treated as overseas transactions, such as foreign-owned hotels, airlines, resorts, and online service providers.
- You will not be eligible for this benefit if your account has been canceled at the time of cash reward payment.
- You will not be eligible for this benefit if Sony Bank deems you have engaged in illegal activities in pursuit of this benefit.
- Sony Bank reserves the right to change the terms or cancel this offer without prior notice.
