Important Matters Concerning Foreign Currency Deposits
Overview
You can make a fund transfer in foreign currencies between Sony Bank foreign currency savings accounts.
There is no prior verification required, so the funds can be transferred immediately into the beneficiary's account.
Fund transfer fees are not required.
Currencies That Can Be Transferred
US Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Australian Dollar, New Zealand Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Swiss Franc, Hong Kong Dollar, Brazilian Real, Chinese Yuan (CNH), South African Rand, Swedish Krona
Eligible Customers
Individual customers residing in Japan and who have an account with Sony Bank
Foreign currency savings accounts are only available to customers 15 years of age or older.
Foreign currency cannot be deposited into the accounts of customers under 15 years of age.
Customers under the age of 18 cannot open an account or remit foreign currency in either Brazilian Real or Chinese Yuan (CNH).
This service is only available to customers physically located in Japan.
Operating Hours
In principle, this service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, except during system maintenance from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM on every second Monday.
How to make a foreign currency fund transfer between Sony Bank accounts
To make a fund transfer, please go to "Foreign Currency Fund Transfers Between Sony Bank Accounts" after signing in to our English online banking, and specify the following.

- Beneficiary must have a Foreign currency savings account in the currency you wish to make a fund transfer. If the beneficiary does not have an account in that currency, you will not be able to complete the fund transfer.
- No changes or cancellations can be made after the transfer has been completed.
- If you wish to cancel a fund transfer due to an error, you must pay a 5,000-yen refund request charge, submit an "Outgoing foreign currency remittance refund request form" and obtain the beneficiary's consent.
