Fund transfer fees are waived on the date of application
When making a scheduled fund transfer, the transaction fee is waived on the date you register for the fund transfer.

When canceling a fee-waived scheduled fund transfer
When canceling a fee-waived fund transfer (Transfer A) after scheduling a fund transfer in which a fee was incurred (Transfer B), Transfer B’s fee will not automatically be waived.
In order to waive the transfer fee for Transfer B, you must cancel the existing scheduled fund transfer (Transfer B) and register for a new one. -
In the event of an error due to insufficient funds at the time of execution for a scheduled fund transfer
If a fund transfer is not executed due to an error caused by an insufficient balance at the time of execution for the scheduled fund transfer, the number of fee-waived fund transfers will be reduced by one, but restored the next day (only available for transfers that occur within the same month).

Fund Transfer Operating Hours
Yen-based fund transfers can be made immediately at any time of day between Sony Bank account holders, as well as from Sony Bank accounts to other financial institutions.
- Fund transfers to other financial institutions made during the following periods may be processed on the following business day due to circumstances at the beneficiary bank.
- Weekdays: 3:00 PM - 8:30 AM the next morning
- Weekends and Bank holidays (including Dec. 31 - Jan. 3)
- You can schedule a fund transfer until the last business day of the following month.
- Due to the system maintenance, immediate fund transfers from Sony Bank to other financial institutions and from other financial institutions to Sony Bank are not available from 11:40 PM on the Sunday before the second Monday of every month to 5:00 AM on the following Monday. Fund transfers will be processed after 5:00 AM on the following Monday.
- A fund transfer may be held for security verification. A transfer will be completed after the transaction details have been verified.
Fund Transfer Limit
You can change the fund transfer limit between 0 - 10 million yen (in 1 yen units). The initial setting for the fund transfer limit is 1 million yen.

- If a transaction is completed using incorrect beneficiary details, you will need to request a refund from the beneficiary bank. The fee for a refund will be 330 yen (consumption tax included).

Receiving a Fund Transfer
In order to receive Japanese Yen from other financial institutions in Japan to your Sony Bank account, you will need to provide the following account information in Japanese.

- (*1) "本店営業部" (read as honteneigyoubu) means "Head Office" in English.
- (*2) "ホンテン" (read as honten) is katakana for "本店営業部".
- (*3) "普通預金" or "普通" means "Savings account" in English.
The account number is a 7-digit number that follows the branch number (001) on the front or back of your cash card.
If you wish to transfer funds from other financial institutions in Japan to Sony Bank, you may be charged a transfer fee by the remitting bank.
If you wish to transfer 100,000 yen or more in cash, you will be asked to present your ID.
Fund transfers of 100,000 yen or more in cash cannot be made at ATMs.
Making a Fund Transfer
You can make a fund transfer by following the procedures on the transaction screen after signing in to our English online banking.
When making a fund transfer, the beneficiary details must be in Japanese. Please check the following table for an example with an English translation.

- If you cannot find the bank code for the beneficiary account, please ask the beneficiary bank for the clarification or search on their website. If you are making a fund transfer between your own bank accounts, please check your cash card, bankbook and the website of the bank for the bank code.
- Please note that if any of the beneficiary details are incorrect, the transaction will not be completed.
- The transaction confirmation screen and some parts of the transaction procedure may be displayed in Japanese.
