[Important Notice] Business Hours During the New Year Holidays

Thank you for banking with Sony Bank.
We would like to inform Sony Bank customers of our business hours during the 2025 New Year holidays.
System maintenance is also scheduled to take place from January 11, 2025 (Sat). Please check for details via the following notification.

English online banking

The service will be available as usual.

Please note that the service is not available every Monday from 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM due to system maintenance.

Partner ATMs in Japan

E-net and Lawson Bank ATMs will not be available during the following dates and times.
January 1, 2025 (Wed), 9:00 PM to January 2, 2025 (Thu), 7:00 AM

Other partner ATMs will be available as usual.

Postal mail (cash card delivery, etc.) & Account opening

Postal mail delivery and account opening procedures are not available on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. Therefore, there may be some delays in cash card delivery during the New Year holidays.
The Open Account app is available as usual.

IMPORTANT

If your account opening process is completed on or after December 26, 2024 (Thu), your cash card will be delivered on or after January 6, 2025 (Mon).

Lost and unauthorized use

You can report a lost card or token from our English online banking.
If you are unable to sign in to our English online banking, please call us using one of the numbers listed on our "Contact Information and Business Hours" page.

The service will be available as usual.

Sony Bank WALLET

The service will be available as usual.
Please note that refunds for any purchase cancellations or returns during the New Year holidays may not be processed until January 6, 2025 (Mon).

Foreign currency deposits

Trading of foreign currency (buying or selling foreign currency) at Sony Bank and cancelling of your Foreign currency savings account is available 24 hours a day, except during system maintenance and the hours when trading of foreign currencies is not available.

Outgoing foreign currency remittances

Please note that your application can only be verified and processed during business hours.

The pre-registration process takes 3 to 10 business days after application.
In general, an Outgoing foreign currency remittance will be completed in 2 to 5 business days after application.

  • All Outgoing foreign currency remittances are subject to a pre-registration verification process, which may take some time depending on the details of your application. Please allow yourself enough time when submitting your application.
  • In cases where the date of an Outgoing foreign currency remittance falls on a bank holiday of the country where the funds are remitted to, it may take more than 5 business days until the remittance is made.

Incoming foreign currency remittances

Please note that verification of remittance details and related procedures by Sony Bank can only be completed during business hours.
Once you have completed procedures to receive incoming foreign currency, Sony Bank will verify the details you have registered, and funds will be deposited to your account after the verification process is completed.
