If you have forgotten your password or PINs, you need to apply for a reset code. With this code, you can reset your sign-in password, transaction PIN, and cash card PIN.

Password/PIN Functionality

Sign-in password

8 to 32 alphanumeric characters (A-Z, a-z, 0-9)

Your sign-in password is used to sign-in to our English online banking.

Cash card PIN

A 4-digit number

Your cash card PIN is used when making transactions with Sony Bank WALLET at ATMs in Japan, and for some online services.

One-time password

A 6-digit number displayed on your token

The One-time password token is a password generator that allows secure authentication with a one-time, unique password. It is used when completing important procedures, such as making new fund transfers, changing your registered information, etc.
Each one-time password is only valid for 30 seconds.

Visa Debit PIN

A 4-digit number

Your Visa Debit PIN is used when shopping at stores with Sony Bank WALLET and when making transactions at overseas ATMs. You will need to set it when opening your account.
If you have forgotten your Visa Debit PIN, you can make an inquiry on our "Visa Debit PIN Inquiry" page after signing in to our English online banking.

Caution when inputting passwords/PINs

To keep your account secured, you have a limited number of attempts when inputting passwords. To ensure your account remains secure, if you exceed the maximum number of attempts allowed, you will be locked out of your account. In this case, wait for a while (up to 12 hours), and then re-enter your password.

Password security precautions

Your passwords and PINs are very important for online security. Please keep your passwords and PINs safe and never disclose them to anyone for any reason.

  • Please do not set passwords that are easy to guess, such as your date of birth, name or phone number, etc.
  • Please do not write your password down. Written passwords may be stolen or seen by a third party.
  • If you sign in to your account on a device other than your own, or if you suspect your password has been stolen, please change your password immediately.
